The estimable 92-year-old artist Irving Guyer- a painter and printmaker for the Works Projects Administration
during the Depression who settled in the Sierra foothills in the 1980s - is showing his intriguing "Pinetum (Leaning Pine)" paintings, made with oil, acrylic and ink, at the B. Sakata Garo gallery in Sacramento through Jan. 3. The gallery, at 923 20th St., is open noon to 6 p.m. Tues.-Sat. (916) 447-4276, www.bsakatagaro.com.
